Before we acquired the building and evangelical meetings began at Christ Church during 1989, the congregation met at the Mount of Olives Pentecostal Church in Clarendon Road, Swinton for many years (to the best of my knowledge, this mission had been founded during the 1930's). The assembly adopted the name Christ Church Assemblies of God in 1989. The Church of England declared Christ Church redundant as a CofE church in 1987/1988 and sold the building to us. After extensive renovation of the interior of the church, carried out my the church members, services resumed in 1988/1989.
